My name is Sebastian Barron. Holding a Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems from Texas A&M-Commerce, I have further augmented my academic credentials with certifications such as EC Council's Certified Ethical Hacker and the esteemed CompTIA suite: A+, Net+, and Security+. My professional focus is deeply rooted in cybersecurity.

Currently, I am entrusted with the role of ISO/Director of Computer and Enterprise Systems at Northeast Texas Community College. For a detailed perspective on this pivotal position, please click HERE. My journey into the technological sphere started at the age of 16 with a computer repair shop in Mount Pleasant. Previous positions at a banking institution instilled in me a deep understanding of compliance and the importance of cybersecurity. This acumen has been instrumental in navigating the regulatory environment associated with Texas' educational standards.
In the realm of technology, I have consistently championed efficiency and connectivity. Under my leadership, our department has transitioned from reactive problem-solvers to proactive technological strategists. I've always encouraged a culture where asking questions is the first step to coming up with cool new ideas.
Additionally, I have had the privilege of serving as an adjunct professor at NTCC. My academic portfolio encompasses a range of subjects, including firewalls, digital forensics, and advanced server-related disciplines. I consider it both a duty and an honor to disseminate knowledge and guide the next generation of young techs.
My future aspirations include the pursuit of a Master's in Cybersecurity. Every professional endeavor I undertake is characterized by unwavering dedication and a commitment to collaborative excellence. For a comprehensive overview of my projects, please check out my Projects page. I firmly believe that collaborative energy, positive vibes, and highlighting successes, no matter how "small" is the key to creating and leading a successful IT department. I never get caught up in the rigorous stresses that day to day IT can bring. As IT professionals, we have to always remember that we are there to support our end users and make sure they are successful!
Beyond all the work stuff, my family is my rock. Their support and cheers keep me going every day.
